We are a voluntary organisation whose aim is to work with children and young people aged of 8-13 making the transition from primary to secondary school. This is a critical time when some children and young people retire from learning and stop their own unique development. Often resulting in self-removal from other positive influences and onto a path with certain pitfalls. The Island believes support that is intelligently given can reach and retain our children and young people in positive systems. The passage that children and young people travel is complex and they need support from their carers and their community.
